Hope Shell

Hope Shell is a beautiful side of Miche Purses. Everyone knows Miche Bags look good, have good quality, are not expensive and due to the interchangeable shells, it allows women to afford a big Purse Collection. That’s pretty good. From a business stand point some might say Miche got it all. But Miche Bag is not just business, so with all its success, the company wanted to give back. That was when the idea of making a Shell to Charity was born.

HOPE SHELL – THE IDEA

So, Miche wanted to have a shell dedicated to charity. That would be very easy; Miche could simply select a Shell from the Collection and announce that some of the proceeds would go to Charity. But that is not the Miche way. If the company was to release a product, that product should represent both Miche and the Charity in cause. So what charity did Miche select?
 

MICHE PURSES FIGHTING CANCER

It is always difficult to select one charity but in the end Miche chose the fight against cancer. The reason is quite simple: is something everyone can relate to. There are stories of battles against cancer in everyone’s life. Soon, the entire Miche team became committed to fight this disease. And they would do it by doing what they do best: creating beautiful purses. It was decided that the shell dedicated to charity would have $5 of the proceeds going to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
 

HOPE SHELL – THE DESIGN

With the cause selected, it was time to start designing. And when is time to create a fabulous shell, Jenny Platt (the creative genius behind Miche Purses) leads the way. So, how did Jenny get inspired? She got inspired by the stories of many cancer survivors and many families that had to face this disease. The Hope shell could go very different ways, but in the end all those powerful quotes touched Jenny and she felt they could touch many people too. So, the design of the Hope shells is always centered in real quotes from cancer survivors. Making sure that those voices were heard was very important to Jenny, so many expressions of the Hope Shells can be seen across the room.
The name came very naturally, too. When Jenny was listening to all those memories, there was something that stood out. The role HOPE played in all of them. In fact, everyone agreed in one thing “HOPE is not the cure, but it helps”. That is why the shell is simply called HOPE.

HOPE SHELL – THE TAG

Because Hope Shells were made with the help of statements of cancer survivors, each Hope Shell comes with a tag with the photo and the statement of a cancer survivor. It is one more personal touch in this very personal matter.
 

HOPE SHELL – THE GOAL

Miche set an initial goal: to raise a million dollars. Whenever someone buys a Miche Hope Shell, $5 dollars of the proceeds go to the Cancer Research. In January 2011 Miche had already raise more than 700 000 dollars! To keep the Hope Project interesting, Miche releases new Hope Shells, regularly.
 

HOPE SHELL IN RED

The latest Hope Shell released was Hope Shell in red. This beautiful Hope shell is available as a Petite Shell, a Classic Shell and a Prima Shell. There is no Hope Shell to the Demi Bag for now, but it certainly will be in a near future.

To sum it up, Miche’s Hope Shells are a wonderful way to look good and also to make some good.
